Matthew 7:1-14 - Logs, Locks and Narrow Lanes

Jesus's teaching in Matthew 7:1-14 challenges us to examine our hearts regarding judgment and discernment. He warns against harsh, hypocritical judgment while encouraging proper self-examination before helping others. Jesus uses the vivid imagery of logs and specks to illustrate our tendency to criticize in others what we struggle with ourselves. He balances this with the call to be discerning, teaching us to pray persistently to our loving heavenly Father. The passage culminates in the Golden Rule and the stark choice between the narrow gate leading to life and the wide gate leading to destruction.
