How To Start A Relationship With The Maker Of The Universe
01 Does God Want Me To Know Him?
Yes, God wants you to get know Him. Knowing God comes only through knowing Jesus Christ. As Jesus Himself said in the above passage, in order for a person to truly know God, they must have an experience with Jesus Christ, first and foremost. A life without end in the presence of God can only be known when a person comes into that relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God and Jesus Christ Whom You have sent.”
John 17:3 (NKJV)
Jesus said to him, "I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
John 14:6 (NKJV)
The ONLY way to truly know God is by knowing Christ. There is no true knowledge of God outside of Jesus Christ.
02 Why does a person have to know who Jesus is?
Because of man’s inability on his own to know God.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 (NKJV)
Our sins separate us from God's holy character. In our sin, we cannot have anything to do with God. And besides Jesus, no one can know God. He IS the ONLY WAY to God.
Jesus said to him, "I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

03 What is the cure for our sinful nature?
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23 (NKJV)
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
Colossians 2:13-14 (NKJV)
The result of our sin is death; a complete separation from the holy nature of God. God's solution for our sinful condition is sending His Son Christ to pay for our sin on the cross, which then opens the door for us to have life in Christ and with God. The cross of Christ took our curse of sin.
04 Why did God do that for mankind
“For God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 (NKJV)
“For God so loved the world that He give His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 (NKJV)
Love is an action word. God's love for mankind was in action when He allowed Christ to take our place of punishment for our sins so that we would not have to bear our own sins.
05 What do I need to do to be forgiven by God for all of my sins?
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His Name.”
John 1:12 (NKJV)
"...that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation”
Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV)
God’s condition of accepting you as His child happens when you sincerely believe in your heart and confess your sins to God with your mouth. You are basically agreeing with God in saying: ’I am sorry Lord for my sins, and I am asking You to please forgive me and give me a new life in Christ today’. Based on His word, He will forgive you of all your sins.
06 What's the guarantee to know for sure that I am truly saved from my sins?
" .. that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Romans 10:9-10 ( NKJV)
Clearly salvation begins and ends with God-the assurance comes from the promises from God's Word. CONFESS your sins with your mouth-- In other words, ADMITTING and agreeing with God about your sinful condition. BELIEVE-- In other words, it is fully accepting God's offer as cure for your sinful condition. And based on God's truthfulness, you accept His love for you to forgive you of all of your sins.
07 What should I do about this?
ADMIT- and be willing and honest to turn from your sins.
BELIEVE- fully accept the death of Jesus Christ died for your sins and the reality that He arose from the grave, giving the hope for your faith.
CONFESS- with your mouth the Lord Jesus and pray honestly asking God to forgive your sins in Christ.
ALLOW- the power of the Holy Spirit to take full control of your life as you grow in your new life.
08 What is next after I become a Christian?
Get in the habit of READING the Bible and PRAYING DAILY.
FIND a Bible teaching church for fellowship and become an active participant.
SHARE with others what Christ has done for you.. (FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CO-WORKERS)
SHOW your new life in Christ by your LOVE for GOD and OTHERS.
